A totem is traditionally defined as a being, or object that represents an animal, or plant that serves as a symbol for a group of people to remind them of where they are from. Such symbols have been used by cultures around the world throughout history. This is a totem of all the fierce creatures that can be come to life within one human’s personal journey.

Contributor Biography: Steph Perrin

Steph Perrin is a Calgarian who fell in love with Toronto when she attended Ryerson’s Arts and Contemporary Studies program. She is a soon-to-be-Master’s-student in the International Studies program at Simon Fraser University. Steph is an occasional pusher of pen to paper and her love of art is inspired by it’s ability to express what our big, clumsy words can’t.
